Fall Home Decor Trends, Ideas, and Inspiration!

September 20, 2022

Warm pops of color and earthy tones are on-trend this fall to create a warm and cozy home. We have researched all the fall trends from top decorators around the country.  Here are four of the top tips to make your home look updated and beautiful. The best part is that these are timeless ideas that can be used for years to come.

Think beyond orange!  Based on what we are seeing and reading from interior designers across the country, color is key for fall – and not just orange and brown. Deep ruby reds, earthy crimsons, and sage greens are the new neutral. You can choose these tones and resonate your personality through throws, pillows or flowers. The trend with color is calm and tranquility in deeply hued colors that can make a room cozy and happy.

Vintage is new again. Take a look through a home decorating magazine or website and you will see a lot written about mid-century modern decorating. Retro style including a more 70s feel is trending. Don’t go buy an avocado-colored refrigerator or orange shag carpet – unless you’re into that! Instead, pull out old pieces you might already have to bring warmth and character to your space. Bold patterns, darker woods, distressed finishes, old books and antiques are having a moment.

Unique fall florals. Dried stems, feathers and grasses are featured in arrangements lately.  Dried eucalyptus is available and very inexpensive in most craft and décor stores right now. Mix dried hydrangeas, eucalyptus, ferns, grasses and twigs from the yard. Display with your pumpkins and gourds for a beautiful arrangement that will carry you through Thanksgiving.

Paint pumpkins in fall’s most popular colors.  Orange, white and grey-hued pumpkins are timeless and always beautiful with any color scheme. If you want to incorporate trendy colors in your home without a huge commitment or expense just paint some pumpkins! Berry tones, mossy green, gold or any color you love. Paint the pumpkin, cut the top off and fill it with dried twigs, flowers, magnolia, and eucalyptus for a gorgeous center piece.
